A Resilient Town With A Rich History. From its Portuguese-era colonial struggles to the thriving community it is today, Faza has overcome immense challenges and is today embracing sustainable fishing practices. As part of the Pate Marine Community Conservancy, Faza BMU, Kumbatia, and its respective NGO partners are working hand-in-hand to protect marine ecosystems, improve livelihoods, and create a traceable and premium quality seafood value chain. Together, we're empowering artisanal fishers to ensure the Lamu Archipelago’s ancient fishing cultures not only survive but thrive in the modern world. There's so much work ahead, but we’re committed to seeing it through.
